Visiting a friend

Geometry Level 3

In a special 4-dimensional city, every point in space is represented by a set of four numbers ( i.e. ( 4 , 2 , 2 , 1 ) (4,2,2,1) ). The numbers form the coordinates of a given point. The distance between any two adjacent points is 1 unit. Jordan wants to get from his house at ( 2 , 2 , 2 , 2 ) (2,2,2,2) to his friend Nadroj's house at ( 10 , 10 , 10 , 10 ) (10,10,10,10) . What is the distance in points that Jordan has to travel?

The answer is 16.

You must find the magnitude of 4 vectors using pathagoream theorm, from the first coordinate to the 2nd coordinate is separated by 8 on each of the 4 vector quantities. So sqrt(4x8^2) = sqrt256 = 16.
