The color of chemical we see is the complementary color from the removal of the absorbed wavelengths ( more ). Since the primary colors are red, yellow and blue, and the color of CuSO 4 solution is greenish (blue+yellow) blue, its complementary is (red+yellow)-red or orange-red .
