Voltage follower

What is the expected voltage ,Vr

  • Assume an ideal op-amp being supplied with +3 and -3 volt on its rails.
  • Assume the 5 and 10 kilo ohm resistors used are common carbon film based, quarter watt.
  • Assume the op-amp is connected as a voltage follower.

The op-amp cuts off at -3 V and 3 V. Providing some shielding against unwanted voltage spikes that could harm whatever the user connects to the other side (leg 6 of the 741 op-amp, differs in some cases). The voltage measured over the divider measures 5 V, however it's cut off at 3V

Wouldn't the resistors burn out?
