The top part of the fraction is ( x 1 ) 3 {(x-1)}^{3} The top is 0 when x is 1, but if x is one the equation is undefined, so there are no solutions.

Simplify the LHS to ( x 1 ) 2 = 0 (x-1)^2 = 0 , taking account that x 1 x \neq 1 (division by zero). The simplification gives only x = 1 x = 1 as an answer, which contradict the assumption that x 1 x \neq 1 , hence the question has no solution.
