In Palo Alto, the streets are numbered sequentially. If Calvin walks from the 3rd street to the 9th street, how many blocks would he have walked through?

3 to 4 is one block, 4 to 5 is one block, 5 to 6 is another block.. until 8 to 9

Thus, there will be 9-3 = 6 blocks to walk through.. If you want, you can count manually: 3 -- 4 -- 5 -- 6 -- 7 -- 8 -- 9

It is 6 because he starts from 3rd street to 9th street and one block means one street. So 9-3=6
