(35^2+X)/36=36. X=71.

Teacher's weight
= { The weight he carried himself } + { The extra weight that each of his students was made to carry }
= (36 × 1) + [ (36 – 35) × 35 ]
= 36 + 1 × 35
= 36 + 35
= 71 kg
