The slope of a distance-time graph gives the magnitude of the object speed. Since this graph indicates a motion with different speeds punctuated by instants of stopping(slope= 0 0 ),choice A is clearly the answer.

Why is option 'B' wrong

According to the supplied graph that depicts distance vs. time, there are plateaus on the graph, meaning that no distance was traveled at all during a certain time, i.e. speed during those time frames (on the y-axis) = 0. This is why A is correct, and why graph B is wrong; the corresponding line segments would have to fall on the x-axis (all y values would be 0).

Edit: sorry, I meant y-axis, not x-axis.

According to the Distance-Time graph the distance traveled is constantly increasing. So, speed is kept constant. It is not accelerating. But according to graph B, the speed is increasing, that is wrong. So, graph A is correct.

The car starts at a constant speed (distances Vs time graph is linear initially), then stops after sometime (no change in distance with time till a certain point) i.e the speed is zero. Only one of the options showed zero speed with time).

Simple in graph two times no displacement irrespective to time so velocity equals Zero , and only option ia .........A in which it's satisfied

Differenciation of the graph Will give similar pattern like A

The slope of a distance-time graph gives the magnitude of the object speed. if slope is constant or increas d-t graph its mean uniform speed line is shown is ------------.and slop of d-t graph is zero so speed zero....

The higher the slope, the greater is the speed. At 2 points the slope is 0. So, Graph A is the correct graph.

as we know ,slope of distance- time graph tells us about the speed . if the distance is linearly increasing with time then the slope is said to be positive or in other words ,speed is positive .similarly ,if distance is constant w.r.t time then the slope(speed) is said is said to be zero & when it ;linearily decreases with slope (speed) is said to be -ive .thus graph a is correct.

A, simply because the car stops at that particular interval thus as the time runs in the x axis, the distance is stand still in the y axis, and letter A is only the option.

simply plot the differentiation of the distance curve...
