Little Red Riding Hood ("Red") and the big bad wolf are both heading to grandmother's house. The wolf wants to arrive early enough to eat both grandmother and then disguise himself. If Red arrives while he's eating grandmother, she will kill the wolf and save them both. If she arrives while he is putting on his disguise, she will realize what happens and only she will escape. If she arrives after the wolf is disguised, however, he will get to eat them both.
Here's what we know:
Given the above information, what will happen?

One thing I don't understand is, if she catches him eating the grandma, she will kill him, which is unlikely. If she sees him putting on the disguise, why can't she kill him? Just saying...

Cost/benefit analysis makes Red's reasoning clear. If she has the possibility of saving Grandma by killing the wolf, she will. Otherwise, she avoids the risk by simply leaving. (In this version of the story, we are assuming that Grandma is not alive inside the wolf; that would certainly alter the analysis significantly.)
greater analysis shows that the wolf has eaten grandma before putting on the disguise
Me too
The question doesn't say they both started out AT HE SAME TIME. It is impossible to tell.

First sentence: "are both heading to grandmother's house" Third bullet point: "are both 6km from the house"
Regardless of when they started, we have enough information to know when they will arrive.
When you are met with questions such as these, it is very essential that the solver must assume that already. I got this one right.
nice
yes
thats awsome
easy
We see that it will take Wolf 30 minutes to get to Grandmother's house, and it will take Red 90 minutes. 60 minutes is just enough time for the wolf to eat Grandmother, but not to put on the outfit, so when Red arrives, he hasn't disguised himself enough, and Red escapes.
correct answer
I've thought that the wolf would disguise first before he eats the grandmother..... so I was wrong
It says that the wolf took 12km/hour, find out how many minutes the wolf arrived at the grandmother house. 60 divide by 12...you will get 5 minutes, you need to multiply by 6 and you will get 30 minutes. Do the same thing for Red. You will get 90 minutes. Then, the wolf eat the grandmother for 45 minutes. Just add it with 30 minutes and you will get 75 minutes. In 75 minutes, the Red still on her way to grandmother house. So, you need to add 30 minutes more. You will get 105 minutes. The Red didn't see the wolf ate the grandmother since the wolf ate it before she arrived, but she see that the wolf is disguising, so the answer is THE WOLF WILL EAT GRANDMOTHER, BUT RED WILL ESCAPE

As per the condition given, the wolf takes 6/12=0.5 hour and Red takes 6/4=1.5 hour. That means the wolf will reach 1 hour before Red arrives. The wolf will have eaten grandmother before Red arrives but he will not be able to disguise himself as Red is only 1 hour late and only 15 min will be remaining to disguise himself which wont be sufficient .
Wolf will arrive in (D/S=T) 30 mins,
Red will arrive in 90 mins,
One hour after he arrives, when Red arrives, wolf will be halfway through putting on his disguise,
As stated in the question, only Red will escape - Grandmother will be eaten.
time taken by wolf to reach house = 30 min. time taken by red to reach house = 90 min. wolf need total = 30+45 = 75 min. to reach house and eat grandmother and 30 min. to disguise. which makes total of 105min 105 > 90 so red will see wolf escape
here, wolf will take 30 minutes or (1/2 hr) to reach home will red will take 90 minutes (calculated by time taken = distance/speed), total time taken after eating grandma = 30 + 45 = 75 and then disguising = 75 + 30 = 105 minutes but red will be at home in 90 minutes, red will suspect wolf and 'll escape (poor , can't saved granny)
1) time it takes for wolf & Red Wolf- 12 km/hour would mean double the distance so we divide km and time by 2= 6 km/30 min. Red- 4km/hour would mean the distance divided by 1.5 so we multiply both the km and time by 1.5 to get 6km/1 hour and 30 minutes This brings me to conclude that the when the wolf reaches the home, Red will still be taking 1 more hour to get there giving wolf only 1 hour. The order the wolf will act is by first eating the grandmother - 45 min. This leaves only 15 minutes left for the wolf until Red reaches the home. So since that is not enough time for the wolf to get ready completely, Red will be at her grandmothers house soon enough to not save her grandmother but escape as written in the description. Good Luck!
red will take 1.5 hrs to reach the grandmothers house but wolf will reach in 0.5 hrs and will eat the grandmother then when it will disguise itself red will be in the grandmothrs house and will run away from there.
It will take 30 minutes for the wolf to reach the house. As in the problem it will take 45 minutes for the wolf to eat the grandma that will add up to 75 minutes. Then the wolf will take another 30 minutes to disguise which will add up to 105 minutes. Now, Red will arrive in 90 minutes so she will she the wolf disguising and will run away and thus the answer is "The wolf will eat the grandmother, but Red will escape"
Remember, the wolf will eat the grandmother first then wears the disguise.
If the wolf can run 12kph from a distance of 6km, it will take him 30 minutes while Red walks only 4kph from the same distance of 6km, taking her 90 minutes to arrive at the house. As soon as the wolf arrives at the house, he will have 45 minutes left to eat grandmother and puts on the disguise, which will last for 30 minutes, afterwards. Red will arrive at the house 15 minutes after the wolf ate the grandmother. During that 15 minutes, the wolf is putting on the disguise. Therefore, The wolf will eat grandmother, but Red will escape.
If the wolf runs at 12km/hr, it will reach grandma's house in half hour. Red walks at a speed of 4km/hr, so he'd reach grandma's house in 90 minutes. If the wolf took 45 minutes to eat grandma, in total it would take 75 minutes to reach grandma's house and eat her. If it took 30 minutes to put on the disguise, it would take 105 minutes. But Red will reach grandma's house in 90 minutes. Therefore, Red will catch the wolf wearing the disguise and will run.

The time taken by the wolf to reach the house will be 1 2 6 = 2 1 hours or 3 0 minutes.
Red will take 4 6 = 2 3 = 1 . 5 hours or 9 0 minutes to reach the house.
The wolf will take 3 0 + 4 5 = 7 5 minutes to eat the grandmother and 3 0 + 4 5 + 3 0 = 1 0 5 minutes to eat the grandmother and put on a disguise. By 9 0 minutes, he would have eaten the grandmother but not put the disguise. Hence The wolf will eat grandmother, but Red will escape .
