42 = a (5^2) + b(5^1) + c(5^0) = 25 a + 5 b + 1 c, so a = 1, b = 3, c = 2, abc = 132

42 can be written as 1 x 25 + 3 x 5 + 1 x 2 = 1 x 5^2 + 3 x 5^1 + 2 x 5 ^0 So in base 5 42 is 132. One five to the second three fives to the first and two five to the zero.
