What is a Spread?

Level pending

Use the Triple Spread Formula to determine the spread in a figure with three lines, non-concurrent, where all three spreads are equivalent.

Triple Spread Formula is ( s 1 + s 2 + s 3 ) 2 = 2 ( s 1 2 + s 2 2 + s 3 2 ) + 4 s 1 s 2 s 3 (s_1+s_2+s_3)^2 = 2(s^2_1+s^2_2+s^2_3)+4s_1s_2s_3 .

0 4 \frac{0}{4} 3 4 \frac{3}{4} 4 3 \frac{-4}{3} 4 3 \frac{4}{3}

s = s 1 = s 2 = s 3 s=s_1=s_2=s_3

( 3 s ) 2 = 2 ( 3 s 2 ) + 4 s 3 (3s)^2=2(3s^2)+4s^3

9 s 2 = 6 s 2 + 4 s 3 9s^2=6s^2+4s^3

0 = 4 s 3 3 s 2 0=4s^3-3s^2

0 = s 2 ( 4 s 3 ) 0=s^2(4s-3)

4 s = 3 4s=3

s = 3 4 s=\frac{3}{4}
