A train of 280 m length is travelling with uniform speed. It crosses a platform in 60 secs and a person standing still on the platform in 20 sec. Find the length of the platform in km.

It is said that the train of length 280m passes a man in 20 s. Therefore the velocity of the train is 280/20 = 14m/s.
now the train passes the platform and its own length in 60s . so total distance covered in 60s = 14*60= 840 m. but this also consist its own length, so we should subtract 280m from 840m. That gives 560m= 0.56km.
