The sequence is increasing powers of 3 followed by the product of the digits.

Eg : 27 is followed by 14 which is the product of 2 and 7.

Therefore the next term of the sequence will be the product of the digits of 243 .

Hence the answer is 24

As written above by the author, the sequence is a Geometric Progression of ratio 3 followed by the product of the result's digits: \ 3 -> Ratio \ 3 -> Product of the digits of "3" \ 9 = 3 * 3 \ 9-> Product of the digits of "9" \ 27 = 3 * 3 * 3 \ 14 -> Product of the digits of "27" = 2 * 7 \ 81 = 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 \ 8 -> Product of the digits of "81" = 8 * 1 \ 243 = 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 \ 24-> Product of the digits of "243" = 2 4 * 3 \ Therefore the result is 24*
