If we connect A and F with a line AF, and did the same with two more lines with AC and CG (C is 2 vertex away from both A and E), we can see 2 different size of equilateral triangles 'accidentally' constructed, the bigger ACX and the smaller one FGX (X is where straight line AF crosses straight line CG).

AE = AF
= AX + XF
= IG + GF
