Which way to heaven?

A Man dies and His soul is now standing before massive gates. The gates are guarded by two sentries. Beyond the gates road splits and goes in different directions. Now the soul has the following information. One sentry speaks only truth and other one always lies. Sentries can say only YES or NO. But soul does not know who speaks the truth and who lies. Beyond the gate one path goes to hell and other goes to heaven. Soul doesn't know which path goes where. It knows that once a path is chosen there is no turning back. The other path is closed to it forever. Soul knows it can ask only one question then it loses its power of communication forever. How does the soul find out which road goes to heaven.
