One of Mrs. O'Donell's 3 children ate their family's pet rat because it forgot to mow the lawn. Plus, that somebody was mad because the rat was supposed to get groceries so the family can eat dinner, and now the family cannot eat dinner. Rattie O'Donell said that he was punching the ceiling. Rathead O'Donell said that he was elbowing the floor. Headrat O'Donell said that he was outside kicking the wall because his mother made him get the groceries. Who ate the family's pet rat?

Headrat O'Donell was the child who ate the pet rat because nobody in the family got groceries, which means that the family cannot eat dinner. (As said at beginning of the riddle). However, Headrat said that he was kicking the wall because his mother made him get the groceries, but actually, nobody got the groceries for the family's dinner, which means that Headrat O'Donell ate the pet rat because he lied.
