How ideal can it be?

Consider the case of an ideal gas law, if the pressure on the ideal gas is made twice of the initial value then the V rms { V }_{ \text{rms} } speed of gas molecules becomes _________ \text{\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_} .

2 times \sqrt2 \text{ times} Does not change 2 times None of these choices

V r m s = 3 P r e s s u r e D e n s i t y { V }_{ rms }=\sqrt { \frac { 3Pressure }{ Density } } even though it may seem that V r m s { V }_{ rms } is proportional to Pressure it is important to understand that for an ideal gas P r e s s u r e D e n s i t y Pressure\propto Density so any change in pressure results in change in density and V r m s { V }_{ rms } speed of gas molecules remain the same
