When the white light from the sun enters into water droplets, then the droplets disperse the white light into its components. The angle of deviation depends on the wavelength of the colors. Therefore, the colors are separated at different angles.
If the light falls in the water droplets at certain angles, then this dispersed light gets internally reflected inside the drops. Due to which the components separate further and eventually comes out as a beautiful display of rainbow.
