The new local market has just opened, but someone has stolen goods from three vendors, who are friends. Not a single vendor had any money at that point. At exactly 8 o’clock, one hour before the market opened, the goods were stolen. The five vendors across from the three friends said, "We were talking about prices for goods". The two vendors next to the three friends said, "We were going to buy water from the vending machine". The other people at the market were separated by a line of toilets, as well as vending machines, so that it would be noticeable if they went near the three friend's shops. The vending machines were not used at that point, nor the toilets. When the police heard the evidence at the crime scene, they immediately knew who the culprit was. Who was the culprit?

It's obvious because the two vendors said they bought water from the vending machine but the evidence was: "The vending machine was not used at that point, nor the toilets." So it's the two vendors because if the vending machine was not used how did they buy water from the vending machine?
