Who's the murderer!?

Logic Level 2

ONLY FOR INDIANS

A man was found murdered in his house on 2nd October 2004, 11:37 am.

There are 4 suspects: his wife, his servant, his gardener, and his driver.

You are the police. You ask the same question to all four of them and get some answers:

The question is: Where were you when the murder took place?

  1. Wife: I was in the kitchen, preparing for today's party .

  2. Servant: I was at the wine shop for tonight's party.

  3. Driver: I was bringing some stuff from the market for the same party.

  4. Gardener: I was flowering the plants.

Whom would you arrest based on this information?

Servant Wife Driver Gardener

The answer is servant. Wine shops are closed on 2nd October

that's just a formal order.. few abide by it! IIT madras never declares a holiday on 2nd October ..... none of the coaching institutions for engineering is closed!

Oct 2 is birthday of Mahatma Gandhi,Father of the Nation (India). So as a mark of respect alcohol is not served on Oct 2.You have to be an Indian to be able to solve this.

Wine shops here are almost always open on the 2nd of October. Where's "here"? Just about anywhere except India, probably.
