Two mothers took their daughters fishing. Each mother and daughter caught a fish, no fish were lost eaten or thrown back; and yet when they returned to camp they had only three fish. Who is the oldest person? ( For more credit, post how you think this is possible)

Oh i get it you made people think by saying two mothers when there was two mothers but from different generations

If there were 3 fish, but a set of two mothers and a set of two daughters, then by the pigeonhole principle, one of the fish must belong to an element of both sets. This is only possible if one of the daughters is the other's mother. Therefore, the relation between the 3 women is grandmother/mother/daughter, the oldest of which is the grandmother.
