Why are exes all over the place?

Algebra Level 2

If 5 x + 4 y x + 3 y = 3 2 \frac{ 5x+4y} { x + 3y } = \frac{3 } {2 } , what is the value of 3 y x \frac{ 3y } { x } ?

The answer is 21.

5 x + 4 y x + 3 y = 3 2 \frac{5x + 4y} {x+3y}=\frac{3}{2}

(5x+4y)2=(x+3y)3

10x + 8y = 3x + 9y

10x - 3x = 9y - 8y

7x=1y

3 y x = 3 ( 7 x ) x \frac{3y}{x}=\frac{3(7x)}{x}

3 y x = 21 \frac{3y}{x}=21

same way I have also solved !

2(5x+4y) = 3(x+3y)

10x+8y = 3x+9y 7x = y

y/x = 7

so, 3 y/x = 3 (7) = 21

cross multiply first we will get 7x=y put the vaLUE of y in 3y/x we get 3(7x)/x=21

First, divide both sides with 2/3. You get 10x+8y=3x+9y. When you simplify this, you get 7x-y=0. From this, x=y/7. Now put this value of x in 3y/x. You get 21.

first, applying the cross multiplication and we will have:

  • 10x + 8y =3x + 9y

and then transposing and combining like terms and simplifying;

  • y = 7x

then get the value of x for which 3y/x is a fractional equation having x is unknown so, divide 7 on both sides of the equation having,

  • x = y/7

then substitute the value of in 3y/x so,

  • 3y / y/7

  • 3y (7) / y

  • 21y / y

then the final answer is 21. that's how its easy.

5 x + 4 y x + 3 y = 3 2 10 x + 8 y = 3 x + 9 y 7 x = y y x = 7 \frac{5x+4y}{x+3y}=\frac{3}{2} \implies 10x+8y=3x+9y \implies 7x=y \implies \frac{y}{x}=\boxed{7}

Now, 3 y x = 3 × y x = 3 × 7 = 21 \frac{3y}{x} = 3\times \frac{y}{x} = 3\times 7 =\boxed{21}

(5x+4y)/(x+3y)=3/2 or 10x+8y=3x+9y SO, 10x-3x=9y-8y SO, 7x=y
Put the value of y in 3y/x.. and it will be (3*7x)/x so the ans is 21

5x + 4y = 3

  • x + 3y = 2

= 5x + 4y = 3

-5(x + 3y = 2)

= 5x + 4y = 3

-5x -15y = -10

= 4y- 15y = 3-10

= -11y = -7 -11 -11

y = 7/11

x + 3 (7/11) = 2 = x + 21/11 = 2 = x = 2- (21/11) = x = 1/11

3y/x = (3(21/11)) / (1/11) = 21

Firstly, we'll do cross multiplication, we'll multiply 2 in eqn. 5x+4y i.e. 2(5x+4y) and 3 in eqn. x+3y i.e. 3(x+3y) which will be equal to 10x+8y and 3x+9y respectively now,10x+8y=3x+9y on solving this eqn. we'll get ans 7x=y ,put value of y=7x in 3y/x then, 3(7x)/x =21

5x+4y/x+3y=3/2 By Cross - Multiplication

10x+8y = 3x+9y 10x-3x =9y - 8y(Transpose Method) 7x = y 3y/x=? As y = 7x

3*7x/x =21

here we are talking about exes. so putting any real no. in place of x we can get the value of y. for example if we put x = 1 then we get y=7 and 3y/x=21.

take 5x+4y=3………..(1) x+3y=2…………..(2), x=2-3y, ……….(3) from (1) 5(2-3y)+4y=3, 10-15y+4y=3, 7-11y=0, 11y=7,
Y=7/11 ,
From(3)
X=2-3(7/11)=(22-21)/11=1/11,
3y/x=3(7/11)/(1/11) , =(21/11)*11=21
