Why is it called cell division when the numbers multiply?

In which phase of mitosis does the following happen:

  • Mitotic spindle fibres attach to kinetochores and pull the chromatids apart

  • Each chromatid is taken to opposite poles of the cell?

Anaphase: The paired chromosomes separate at the kinetochores and move to opposite sides of the cell. Motion results from a combination of kinetochore movement along the spindle microtubules and through the physical interaction of polar microtubules.

How does chromosome separation differ in bacterial cells?

I am guessing but bacterial binary fission is asexual, the chromosomes do not separate in halves but duplicated.
