x 2 = x 2 x^2=\frac{x}{2}

2 x 2 = x 2x^2=x

2 x 2 x = 0 2x^2-x=0

x ( 2 x 1 ) = 0 x(2x-1)=0

2 x 1 = 0 x = 1 2 2x-1=0 \Rightarrow \boxed{x=\frac{1}{2}}

I think you must write all possible x value and then explain why you chose that one

Just divide both sides by x x to get x = 1 2 x=\frac{1}{2} . Therefore the answer is x = 0.5 \boxed{x=0.5} .

This method doesn't give the other possible value (0), however, that doesn't matter because x > 0 x>0 .
