A certain plane flying with the wind travels 540 miles in 2 hours. Later, flying against the same wind, the plane travels 690 miles in 3 hours. Find the speed of the plane.

250 mph as when the plane is going along with the wind then x+y=540/2 and when it is flying opposite to the wind then x-y=690/3 solving the two we get the value for x which i have considered for the speed of the plane.
