Affordable Winter Vacations

Algebra Level 1

For her winter vacations, Beatrice and her family want to go to Netherlands. Beatrice has checked many prices in Internet, to find the best prices for hotels. Her research turns up the following comparable options:

The Winterparadjis hotel has a initial price of €1300, and a daily payment of €100.
The Sneeuw Rots hotel has a initial price of €1350, and a daily payment of €80.
The Donker Bos hotel has a initial price of €1100, and a daily payment of €170.
The Sneeuw Land hotel has a initial price of €1250, and a daily payment of €120.

If they intend to vacation for 3 weeks, what is the most affordable hotel for Beatrice and her family?

3 weeks= 21 days. The Winterparadjis hotel= 100 * 21= 2100; The Sneeuw Rots hotel= 80 * 21= 1680; The Donker Bos hotel= 170 * 21= 3570; The Sneeuw Land hotel= 120 * 21= 2520; Since, Sneeuw Rots is the cheapest. It is the most affordable.

simple multiple the factor with 21 means 80*21 and get the low value so this is answer

Qamar Raj - 7 years, 2 months ago

Fix $1100 = a unit, $80=b units. 1)a + $200+ (b+20) 21 2)a + $250 + b 21 3)a + (b+90) 21 - clearly expensive of all. 4)a+ $150 + (b+40) 21 20 21/40 21>> 1 21(b 21 same in all)

so option 2.

Since 3 weeks = 21 days,

Winterparadjis Hotel = $ 1300 + 21 ( $ 100 ) = $ 1300 + $ 2100 = $ 3400 =\$1300+21(\$100)=\$1300+\$2100=\$3400

Sneeuw Rots Hotel = $ 1350 + 21 ( $ 80 ) = $ 1350 + $ 1680 = $ 3030 =\$1350+21(\$80)=\$1350+\$1680=\$3030

Donker Bos Hotel = $ 1100 + 21 ( $ 170 ) = $ 1100 + $ 3570 = $ 4670 =\$1100+21(\$170)=\$1100+\$3570=\$4670

Sneeuw Land Hotel = $ 1250 + 21 ( $ 120 ) = $ 1250 + $ 2520 = $ 3770 =\$1250+21(\$120)=\$1250+\$2520=\$3770

Therefore, the cheapest hotel for 3 weeks is the Sneeuw Rots Hotel.

The Winterparadjis hotel = 1300 + 100 . 21 = 3400. The Sneeuw Rots hotel = 1350 + 80 . 21 = 3030. The Donker Bos hotel = 1100 + 170 . 21 = 4670. The Sneew Land hotel = 1250 + 120 . 21 = 3770. The Sneeuw Rots has the best price.
