log x 32 = 64 x log x 32 = x 64 32 = x 64 x = 32 64 \begin{aligned} \log_x 32 &= 64 \\ x^{\log_x 32} &= x^{64} \\ 32 &= x^{64} \\ x &= \sqrt[64]{32} \end{aligned}

Note that 32 5 = 2 \sqrt[5]{32} = 2 , so 1 < 32 64 < 32 10 = 2 < 1.5 1<\sqrt[64]{32}< \sqrt[10]{32} = \sqrt{2} < 1.5 . Thus the closest integer to x x is 1 \boxed{1} .
