Here, total weight of cherries is 100 lbs

So, total water 99 lbs

Now, assume x lbs water has evaporated.

According to the question,

(100-x)×98% = 99-x or, x = 50

Now, the weight of the cherries is (100-x) lbs = 50 lbs.

When you have 100kg. You have 1% x 100kg=1 kg of cherry. When you dried it such that the 1 kg is now 2%, the overall weight decreases. When 2% is now 1 kg, 100% is 50 kg.
