This is a brief summary of the answer.

A volume of 999 pages needs

9 + 2(90) + 3(900) = 2889

digits. If the bulky volume in question has x x pages,

189 + 3( x x - 99) = 1890

x x = 666 digits

Can u please explain in detail??
