Consider two person's, On the basis of returning ( r e p a y i n g ) repaying) , A 'A' take a debt of $ X \$'X' from B 'B' and given it to four practical person's each.The Remained balance of A,B,C&D are $ 10 , $ 5 , $ 20 , $ 15 \$10,\$5,\$20,\$15 respectively.

How much dollars ( $ ) (\$) were debted by A 'A' ?

As there mentioned returning the money A has to be repay to B

Money is distributed in 4 persons A,B,C & D each. The Balance remained $10,$5,$20,$15 are has A,B,C&D respective persons.

so total of the balance is given as

A+B+C+D= x

10+5+20+15= x

50= x is to be return to the 'B'.

but this will not be correct answer as you think because the given question is about balance remained and you must know that balance never be sum.if you do that it will wrong.

To find right anwser substract one from sum of the balance which is remained.

       i.e. 50-1= x
              49= x

The 'A' were debted $ 49 from B.
