The logic behind the question is pretty simple. The given numbers are in binary system. If you convert them to decimal system, we get 11011 − 11000 = 27 − 24 = 3. 11011 - 11000 = 27 -24 = 3.

Represented by two's complement notation : 11011 − 11000 = ( − 5 ) − ( − 8 ) = 3 11011-11000 = (-5)-(-8) = 3
