You are shorter when standing up than when lying down! (~1 inch). When we are standing, the tug of gravity compresses the soft tissue between the vertebrae of our spines, and when we lie down, our spines expand.

Although it is a good question, it remains to be quite misleading...that can been shown evident by the minuscule number of solvers that exist thus far.
