A Birthday bonus??

Birthdays are special for everyone. .So how about brilliant starts giving bonus points on any problem solved on the user's birth date? It would make us feel really good, wouldn't it?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

bad idea

While surviving yet another year is a commendable accomplishment, we probably won't be giving out extra points for your birthday's. That said, we might come up with something fun to do to/for people on their birthdays that doesn't involve points.

There you have a nice thought.

That's nice!

truly a bad idea.

Brilliant gives you point for your hard-work you have done while solving a problem. Points are like appreciation for our success.

You're asking for giving bonus points on our birthday, the some other user will ask to give points on some other special events. Getting points that way would not be at all satisfying (atleast for me)

SO this is a bad idea for me.

Ok, I am just giving a suggestion, no need to get hyper..

you shouldn't be solving brilliant problems on your birthday, arshdeep...

I disagree. In my opinion, nothing should stop you from doing Brilliant problems just for the sake of it.

Nice thought; buddy! Maybe my obsession with brilliant won't last long! On the other hand, I came up with this idea as my birthday is real close and I am at home coz I have a 1 month break from college; nothing much to do around the house..

Not a bad idea.
