A discussion regarding points in BRILLIANT!!!

Someone please tell me the way or procedure the points are calculated here. My points last week was 150k but it suddenly has fallen down 76k! How it happened? My points one month ago was 50k frm there it became 150k and now 76k! Its rediculous! Points gets change so rapidly here that we students who really works very hard to get some points and try harder somes to increase level. Each and everyone try to solve harder problems but all time we cannot start from level 5 we need to do some level 2 or level 3 sums to increase the efficiency! But this marking scheme of points has badly effectd us...if we do level 2 sum we get only 50points and level 3 sum only 65 points as comparable to b4 which was 100points per sum. Moreover ratings are also not showing. For all these i request the members to clarify the doubts regarding all points calculation and all and help us to love BRILLIANT as we do! :)

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Yeah..I am not leveling up in Mechanics nor in Electricity and Magnetism even though I have solved problems of almost 350 points in both. The site shows that Level is increased every 250 points....

See Suyeon Khim's comment on this post. Points aren't supposed to decrease in any way, it probably won't happen again.
