This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

It's easy for me to tell you to not get demotivated, but I know it's not that easy to actually do it. A better alternative would be to take advantage of your demotivation to do better next time. Take it as an incentive. You need to realize that marks are not definitive, they come and go. It's best not to judge yourself based on them right now. And looking at what you have said, you seemed to have performed badly due to a lot of silly mistakes. You can train yourself to stop committing these mistakes. And the only way to do it is to take more exams, no matter how you perform.

As far as studies and JEE prep is concerned. Make sure that it is what you want. I think that you are probably in class 11, so be sure that your ambition is to become an engineer and that you are not doing this because of your parents/other friends. If it is your goal, then you have nothing to worry about. You just have to be faithful to what you want and things will be put into place, maybe not soon, but they will.

Thanks for your wishes, hope JEE advanced goes well.

I'll think about it... I guess I will have nothing else to do after JEE. Besides you can simply post your doubts in brilliant and if not me, then someone else will surely help you out!
