I think I speak for a good portion of Brilliant users by saying that the lanyard and particularly the shirt are the two most valued prizes. I do not advocate materialism, but the shirt is undeniably a hugely desired recognition of accomplishment. 50,000 points is immense, even for someone at relatively high proficiency levels and questions worth many points. I can only imagine the struggle a level 1/2 mathematician would experience while trying to amass these points. My proposals to satisfy the Brilliant staff as well as users (one plan or the other): A. Decrease shirt to 25,000 points. Each subsequent shirt costs 25,000 more than the previous one. Caps at 100,000. B. Decrease point value per question, greatly increase number of questions per week, perhaps to an infinite amount. The only way to attain large amounts of points is through hard work. Thoughts?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

Agreed ... especially with point B...
The suggestion to have a large number of questions is likely to increase the burden on Calvin Sir, although it is a good idea.
cool proposal
It seems quite appropriate to increase the number of points for getting materialistic awards. but i think it is not fair in case of books. the points for books should be very less!
a level 1/2 mathematician would need (if he/she doesn't level up) nearly a year to amass 50,000 points from scratch
