  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

@Calvin Lin I have filled second derivative wiki and it looks nice but the person who started it had just written 1 para and that too very untidy due to which page says it needs a cleanup can you please look into the matter and remove that box.

Gautam, I've looked these over and they look great. Thanks! We really appreciate your contributions.

I also removed the "cleanup" warning on the Second Derivative page. FYI, once those are marked, they usually get cleaned up and removed within about a week through our normal processes. :)

@Gautam Sharma Most of the things I'd suggest are things you're already doing. That said, here's some general advice:

  • Remember that these are for people who are learning so try to keep technical terms to a minimum (or if you need to use them, make them link to the relevant wiki for people who need to review prior concepts).
  • Provide lots of good examples.
  • Embed "Try it yourself" problems. You can do this by taking any community problem and adding it to the page (Syntax: [[problem-URLOFPROBLEM]]). This gives people a chance to verify that they actually understand.
