This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

I really don't have much achievements. Only a few like National Science Olympiad and International Maths Olympiad both of SOF. Also AITS which on elaboration stands for All India Test Series.
Qualifying RMO in my viewpoint is not an achievement at all and I'm sure you would too agree. You are a level- 5 and now I can't even think of level-5 problems let alone solving them. How did you achieve such proficiency? What is/was your best rank at SOF olympiads?

Awesome!! 4th and 5th is huge achievement!! My bests are 35th in NCO, and 39th in IMO! Though I am also an NTSE and KVPY scholar, but I am just focussing on JEE 2015 right now! What about you @Krishna Ar@Ashtik Mahapatra
@Pranjal Jain

Hi @Pranjal Jain . First of all, congrats! Being both an NTSE+KVPY scholar is a huge achievemt(Plus it gives you over 6-7 lacs monetary net benefit :D) Right now, I'm also focussing on these scholarship tests. NTSE level 1 went very well. Hope level 2 goes in the same way :D. I'd like to know how you tackled KVPY and If I m right you got rank -453 ? Please tell me more about this :) ....(And about NTSE stage-2)...W.R.T KVPY, tell me about the second stage(interview) and also whether 1st stage marks are taken for final rank..etc :P
Actually for getting kvpy scholarship you need to get admission in basic sciences (B.Sc. etc) which almost no one prefers! (I just got Rs 11000 from resonance for clearing kvpy)
And yeah I got KVPY AIR 453. I think there are some recent changes in NTSE so can't say anything about it. Still it will be easy if you are cool at MAT.
For KVPY, I got ≈60% in stage one. You might get more if you a know a little bit of biology and electrodynamics (Basics which you learnt in class 9 and 10). In SA stream, number theory occupies much of maths. These are worth level 3 on brilliant. For the interview, I would just advise to look confident! Thats it! No "tough" questions in interview! You might be asked to solve maths during interview. So method matters!

LOL There's been a misunderstanding! I was selected for RMO ...I am yet to give it
ANyway its a great job on your part. BTW, Any idea if medical students will get KVPY fellowship? (IIT students don't I think)
@Krishna Ar
–
Yeah! Thats exactly what I meant!! IIT students don't get kvpy scholarship!! I don't know about medical ones but I suppose they get it! Lucky ones!
@Ashtik Mahapatra

Its not much tough! If you study at Kota with sincere efforts no one can stop you from getting Top 100 rank. The thing is to work constantly for two years!
Another thing, Isn't Kedargouri in Odisha? Then why does it show you as in Mumbai? And being a level 5, i presume you must be way ahead, ( finished atleast class-12 portions). Right? How did you manage to achieve this?
I was taking IIT coaching in FIITJEE from my 8th class and now I am studying in pace which is Mumbai's best institute. I just had the best of teachers.

Why do you tag everything you post with #Calvin, #Finn, #Daniel, #Peter, #Michael? It is kind of pointless, isn't it?

I didn't tag with Michael now did I? Dude it's just for fun.
Hi. Its nice to see you are a level 5 on all topics and yet 15. Are you in grade-11 now? Could you elaborate on your achievements?
