Beauty of numbers

Guys..help me...I have a problem..pls if anyone can provide a solution.The question is:- We randomly select any number,say,1234.Now,in this number there is one 1,one 2,one 3,one 4.So now we write his number as :- 11121314.At first writing the number of repetitions and then the number in ascending order.This is repeated again n again and a time comes when the number doesn't change anymore .This occurs for every integer .

  FOR EXAMPLE :=

-1234
-11121314
-51121314
-4112131415
-5112132415
-4122131425
-3132132415
-3122331415 <==
-3122331415 <==
The question is that why does this happen ???That too for every integer ..?? Even if u guys dont know the answer....just share ur ideas

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Comments

To clarify, if we start with 1111111111, and then the next number is 101, is the "10" considered as "ten" or as "one zero"? IE, would the next line be 11110, or would it be 1021?
