I am sorry, couldn't find a better title. This is to express my disappointment with the new system of brilliant's introducing a person's profile when one hovers the mouse over the person's name. Earlier, it was much better and compact whereas now the display has been changed to something awkward and unclear. I am sure others too would feel he same. It is now difficult to find out what the levels of a person are than it was before as earlier it used to be a drop-down kind of thing, which made it easier. Brilliant is surely a wonderful platform, without doubt but these are small things which need to be taken care of. I would request the moderators to come to a consensus and decide whether this model must actually be used or not. Thanks

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

@Peter Taylor, @Silas Hundt, @Krishna Ar I really don't mind it. What I've learned is that our minds tend to prefer what they're used to, and sometimes change can cause that to happen. Aesthetically, the new system is beautiful and simplistic (@Jackie Steck and whoever else, great job :D). It's good though, because once you get used to it, you'll be able to really quickly read info and process it with a lot less strain on your eyes. There is one thing that I'd like to point out. Something I have noticed is that the orderings of each category is random. Is this on purpose? If not, I think it'd be cool to either order it by proficiency or by some universal order (i.e. Algebra, then Geometry, then Combinatorics, etc.). I do see where you're coming from, though. :D

Yep. @Finn Hulse, @Krishna Ar, I think I like the new system. But I am disappointed that it does not show our status. It would have been perfect then. What do you think?

Maybe true.
I miss the Old Brilliant!

How did you get these images?? Well, I also liked its simplicity.
I actually think this is better... Before, there was only the colors, and you had no idea what subjects each of them was, but now you know.
The only advice I would give to brilliant staff is to make the colors thicker, instead of the skinny little line.

Not at all. You could hover your mouse over the colors to find out what subject it was, but anyway I think i must get used to this

Oh really? Anyways, if the color bar was a little wider in the vertical direction, would you like it better?
My thinking exactly. :D
I too liked the old one.
