Can Someone Please help me?

I am a Class 8 Child (Going to class 9 in April 2015). I want to learn Mathematics to it's depth and I love the subject. I would also like to participate in competitions like the RMO But I do not know where to start preparing.

I surely can not solve the RMO level Problems unless I learn from The Basics.And by the Basics I literally mean the NCERT Level.

I am presently studying from Class 9 NCERT and will be doing the Class 10 NCERT During April- May as well.

Apart from this (and the brilliant wikis of course) can someone Help me by suggesting books which are within my reach of problem solving?

Also Thank you Brilliant for introducing to me a new world of Mathematics. Before Joining Brilliant in October 2014, I barely knew what a polynomial was.(You can imagine the rest..)

To be honest, I really don't know what to suggest since I never read any printed material for maths other than our course books (NCERT and some books for practice problems)

And exams like RMO, INMO, KVPY have a completely different pattern from the "school-y" stuff. Frankly speaking, studying NCERT books and such doesn't help shit in preparing for RMO, etc.

Always remember that the internet is your best friend. You can gather information and learn many techniques of problem solving just by scouring the internet.

Also, apart from Brilliant.org, there are two other sites that helped me a lot in learning (maybe even more than Brilliant). They are Wikipedia and Wolfram|Alpha.

So, bottom line, if you have the time and patience to sit for hours in front of a PC (or laptop), then you don't need any books for your preparation. Download free stuff that explains the mathematical concepts clearly without paying a single penny. And after you think that you understand the concepts clearly now, practice a few problems on the topic on Brilliant.

Learn from: Brilliant Wikis, Wikipedia, Wolfram|Alpha, AoPS wikis, PDFs from reliable sources explaining a topic in detail.

Could you please tell how can i discuss problems on aops if i have some doubts. I have tonnes of questions which i need help with but not anyone who could help me. Could you please provide with me some website if you know an for the purpose. Also how to learn and solve questions on aops?

Well I am very much like you , till about June-July I didn't know what Calculus is in its actuality , i.e. I had heard about it but had never bothered to learn it in advance !

Coming back to the topic at hand ,What I had actually done is download loads of Pdfs from the Internet (actually there are quite a lot of them on the Internet) to study some exceptional Topics in detail for example Random Walks , Back Titration , Diffraction etc .

Wikipedia is also a good source but I generally prefer Wolfram Mathworld more but I'm not saying that it's always the better of the two for example the wiki on Complex Numbers in Wikipedia is better than the ones at Wolfram Mathworld .AoPS is another great site , I had learnt all the inequalities and Algebra that I know ,from there .

And most importantly you've got loads of time , you are just in Class 9(going to be soon) so you can just Practice questions here on Brilliant !!

Also I don't understand the concept of "reach" ,I think that anyone can understand any topic in Maths (I am not reffering to Physics since Idk I'll ever become better in it )

You are a level 5 in Algebra and number theory also level 4 in geometry.Someone with your levels can easily clear RMO . Best Of Luck $\ddot\smile$

These level 5s are just by solving level 3 or certain level 4 problems. I suck at Proof problems... RMO is mainly about proofs. So I think that one should not judge a person by his levels on Brilliant.
