Can you help me?

I recently came to discover this thing (it may exist already though.)

  1. Take a positive integer.

2.a Half n if even,

2.b 3n+1 if odd,

and it always comes to 1. does anybody know anything about this??

(as said, it may already exist )

This is known as the collatz conjecture, and it has not yet been proven. However, different operations other than 3n+1 have already been proven to not work. E.g. 5n+1 results in an infinite loop: 13, 66, 33, 166, 83, 416, 208, 104, 52, 26, 13. @I Love Brilliant
