Chinmay has had the idea of a function for some time, today we were able to get some stuff off of it.
we define (Chinmay's definition):
Ch(n)={1(−1)τ(n),n= prime, otherwise
Later, I made it to
Ch(n)={−11,n=perfect square,otherwise
this is trivial, (tau is odd iff n is a perfect square, tau of all primes are 2).
let's find its Dirichlet series
D(Ch;s)=−2ζ(2s)+ζ(s)
This is an interesting result, we will try to apply it in future notes.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
