They are very complicated at first but with limits you will find a pattern. E.g. d(x²) /dx = 2x.
(Lim = h)
Let's get into it.
Lim (f(x) - f(x-Dx))/Dx
Dx=0
In this case f(x) = x²
h (x²-(x-Dx) ²)/Dx = (x²-x²+2xDx+Dx²)/Dx
=(2xDx+Dx²)/Dx=2x+Dx. Dx=0
2x+0=2x
Therefore the derivative of x²=2x
