A very new concept of the astrophysics has spread its field of influence onto many a scientist and students and i WANT to know if the concept is viable of existense.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

The concept of parallel universes (or multiverses) is interesting. A good idea for science fiction. But I don't think it will ever be possible to prove it ('parallel' universes don't 'intersect'). So even if they exist, we won't be able to know. Parallel universes aren't supposed to influence each other. So, as far as we are concerned, they might as well don't exist.

well i hope they do exist it will be good

I live in a parallel universe, so I know for sure that it exists. If only you humans knew what it is like.

Jess J - 8 years ago

Just as an FYI. The notion of parallel universes predates the multiverse concept used in string theory. You can go all the way back to the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics...

David Mattingly Staff - 8 years ago

Actually...the Multiverse theory is supported by 3 theories....

Bubbel Theory

String theory

Quamtum Mechanics (time web concept)

[but sadly...till now no Experimental Evidence.....till now ]

Atanu Sarkar - 6 years, 10 months ago

string theory which tell about existence of multiuniverse which are called brane world .

Zahid Shekh Mohammed - 8 years ago

It is nothing but a world of imagination!! Many a times happen I dream of an while sleeping and very next day the incident happen I could recognize that the event I had observed somewhere else in my dream!! one of my friend says that some of instructions or code is exchanged between two Universe!! the second one is PARALLEL UNIVERSE!!!

Yes...theoeritically the concept is liable but sadly till now there is no way to proove it.....Discussions are going on about it(brane world)...lets keep hoping that in our lifetime we get to see something extraordinary...by the way its a good topic for science fiction... :-)
