Simply a rigid body transmits information instantenously, even much faster than the speed of light......but according to theory of relativity perfectly rigid bodies do not exist.... in case of sound more rigid the body is more will be the speed of sound in it.......long before a material is perfectly rigid though , the speed of sound begins to approach the speed of light ...but it takes something to get there...one of the stiffest mediums would be a free scalar field, where speed of sound equals to speed of light...and it cant go beyond it...............

speed of sound in a perfectly rigid rod is equal to that of light.
