[Feature Request] How solutions are displayed

Lately the way solutions are displayed have been changed. Before, if you clicked Solutions on the start page, you would get a list of the past weeks. But now, you get a list of all of last weeks problems (and below the previous weeks, and so on). I don't think this new way is very good, since it's a lot harder to get an overview of the past weeks. If you want to find a specific problem, I think it's harder, you have to scroll quite a bit. And since the Algebra and Number Theory problems are below the Geometry and Combinatorics ones, you have to scroll a lot just to see those.

In my opinion, it's much better to click your way through than having to scroll through long lists. And especially if you want to find a problem from a few weeks ago (if you e.g. want to give it to a friend), it's very hard to find.

These are just my thoughts and opinions, I don't know if others agree with me.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Absolutely agree with you! :)

Yeah I find it very cumbersome to scroll through everything just to find what I need. Could it be reverted back to the original layout please?

Wittmann Goh - 8 years, 4 months ago

I liked the previous format.

Hello all,

There seems to be a lot of consensus around not liking the new solution viewing interface. We will be changing it soon.

And why does brilliant have to display our answers ( or lack thereof ) on the problems? We could just check after we found the problem.I prefer the previous system.

I also agree with you Mattias
