I'd love some feedback on how you're using "Favorites" and "Started'. Our data tells us that while lots of you click "Favorite" on problems, you infrequently go to the "Favorite" page to look at all of the problems you've favorited. The "Started" page has similarly low traffic.
Let's start with "Favorites". "Favorites" can be used in two different ways – to bookmark problems you like, or to tell the author that you appreciate their work. We are considering breaking it out into two separate features: "Like" and "Save to ...". "Like" would be a straightforward way to tell the author that you enjoyed his/her problem. "Save to ..." would be a more advanced bookmarking functionality, where you could create different collections, and organize your favorite problems into these various collections. You would be able to come back to these collections, share them out to others, and browse others' collections. Over time, we may add functionality that allows you to quiz yourself from these collections of problems.
"Save to ..." would also replace "Started", since you could simply save problems that you're interested in coming back to, to a "Solve Later" collection.
I'm interested to hear what you think about this. Feedback welcome!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

I love this idea! At present I use the favorites button to bookmark problems that I want to check out later.
This is a great idea, although I don't think "Started" should be replaced by "Save to..." since the "Started" feature is automatic and the "Save to..." feature won't be.
I'm not speaking for all users, but I doubt I'll remember to save problems each and every time I leave them incomplete - which makes the automated "Started" feature useful to me.
I suggest replacing the "Started" list with three new lists: "Completed" (finished problems), "Started" (unfinished problems) and "New" (unviewed problems), all of these lists updated automatically. This is because, as someone mentioned below, the "Started" list is flooded with completed problems as well!
The "Save to..." feature sounds great, as do the suggested future developments!
As always, great job, Brilliant!
This is a great idea! :) I usually favourite a note or problem to show appreciation to the setter, but I have a personal collection of problems on my computer because it is quite hard to scroll infinitely on the Brilliant Favourite Page... :) I'm sure that the Save to function will be well-received by all Brilliantians! :D
I am not very sure about what Started is about though... Could anyone enlighten me?

The Started tab shows you all the problems you've viewed: whether you've submitted an answer or not. It helps you sort through all the problems you've seen and shows you which questions are pending.
Good thinking! But I would like to have 'save to' and 'started' both of them.
i like it too.
This sounds great! thumbs up..
Grreat! I initally demanded that "Solve Later" button. :) Thanx A Lot
PS : Can we have separate lists for solutions that I've posted, the comments I've made and Those I've solved? It might be like this :
That idea is really great !!!
I favorite a problem (1)when I couldn't solve it and would like to try later...or (2)I liked it and wanted to keep for my collection.
"Started" section finds little or no use...also its flooded with tabs showing solved problems so I feel it better to visit "Favourites" section.
Ur absolutely right...dr..i think ur idea iz best which u hve described above....soo keep it up..
This is totally great
Yeah I do think that a lot of the time people are just "Favoriting" just to show support, rather than actually claiming that something is their favorite thing. I occasionally go through my Favorites, though, and sometimes I do favorite because it's a cool problem.
This is a very nice feature added to brilliant! I use the "favorite" tool to the questions i like and also to those questions which i fail to solve so i can see later if any solution is added or not!
Nice idea.
Starting with the "Favorites" section, I favorite problems for the following 2 reasons 1) I thoroughly enjoy a problem 2) I don't know how to do the problem, and after reading the solution, want to revisit it later.
Therefore, I would enjoy the quiz function, and the division of the "Favorites" section to the "Save to" section and a "Like" section. I would also love a "Solve Later" section, used for when I see a problem, try it, fail, and want to reattempt it later.
In regard to the "Started" section, I think I've visited that section once or twice. I don't see a purpose for this section, and think it should be replaced with the "Save to" section.

I generally use the started section to revise old problems
Ya, its NICE! But what about the PRACTICE PROBLEMS??
