This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

anubhav didn't come for advanced. I am getting little less than 140 in advanced. Prashant is getting more than 180 in advanced. Better watch out for him next time.
A uniform rod of mass m and length l is hinged about a point and is initially horizontal. Now the rod is released and it can rotate freely about an horizontal axis passing through A.
Find the tension in the midpoint of the rod when it becomes vertical.
My answer is not matching , I am getting 17/8 (mg) .I used integration.
I made a mistake, now I am getting 9mg/8 ,it seems to be correct since it is given in the option while rest of the answers, 13mg/8 and 17mg/8 are not in option.

But that information is sufficient bro at least to me as here scores are also displayed and practically 5 students used to get selected from here per exam !!
Hey Guys i have got a problem . In my CPP This problem doesnt have answer . can you guys solve and tell me the answer i am getting w = 2
A Particle is at the lowest point of a smooth wire frame in the shape of parabola lying in the vertical x-y plane having equation x^2 =5y (x,y are in meter) . after slight displacement particle is set free. find angular frequency of oscillation
I used the approximation that for small displacement, tanz=b/a=a/5 where b and a are position coordinates of the particle at some instant and also that for small z,tanz is almost equal to z.
If online tests are okay for you, then: assuming you are in FIITJEE, you must be having access to myPAT - did you try them? Besides there is AIiTS, if you want to give tests comparable to JEE Advanced (unlike AITS!).
Besides, there's Embibe. [A note for Embibe: recently, they have started charging Embiums (virtual currency on Embibe that you can either purchase by real-world cash or earn by solving questions on Embibe) for various services on the site.]
If you are looking for online tests, then I highly recommend you try out Hashlearn (www.hashlearn.com). They have a large base of quality tutors, all of whom are from premier institutions of India like IIT, and NIT. They also have exclusive tie-ups with top publishers in India so you can practice questions from all their books right on the app and get detailed solutions for all the question. Check them out.
If you are finding online test series for IIT JEE mains exam then you can get sample papers and test series for IIT JEE main preparation.

After reading the above comment, Many students are suffering in chemistry and science subject. You have solution for that if you will think other than the branded coaching institute. There are many good courses available online with fully solved papers like https://www.careerorbits.com and many other.
Organic chemistry takes a lot of time and patience to master.
In beginning i also faced this problem but fortunately we were given sufficient time to revise it again and again. in beginning you will forget reagents named reactions will remind you of biology.
Just one advice do GOC Properly . It is the KEY For ORGANIC.
I Had to do it again in march this year coz i didn't studied it properly in 11th .

N @Archit Agrawal How much r u getting in olympiads?
Answers which i feel are wrong are
Chemistry (graph ones ) should be ABCD
H2O2 One should be bonus density cant be 26.5
OCH3 One about incorrect statements i got ABC To that
Physics
Wedge one where mgcotx is given but mg/tanx is not
integer physics one in which velocity was asked it was turning out to be 16 but i ticked 4

@Aniket Sanghi .
I Agree with all of your chemistry problems i got exactly the same answers as you got Hifi!!!
Math 1st one yeah i too got ABC
Q2 Dont know
Q3 No i think its correct. i got 6 in the exam
Q4 I Too got 1
Physics
I Agree with first 4
But in last i think omega is correct

i am getting 813mg.
Used integration.

Yes, it is 13mg/8.
I am also getting 17mg/8.
@Archit Agrawal how much are you getting in AIITS?
i am getting 13mg/8
those who are getting 17mg/8 would have ignored the weight of half rod while writing equilibrium equations
Log in to reply
Edit:
I made a mistake, now I am getting 9mg/8 ,it seems to be correct since it is given in the option while rest of the answers, 13mg/8 and 17mg/8 are not in option.

By Energy Method , Answer is coming 2 .
Let me also try by Force Method .

By Force method also , answer is coming 2.
But by Torque method , I dont think the answer will come easily!!!
Bro! Do you have some good questions which are more easily solved by Energy method than Force method ?

Real gases (theoretical part) is a bit tough to understand. rest its a simple formula application chapter
and if you keep away FIITJEE AITS Organic chemistry is the most scoring part of chemistry along with inorganic.
