From where start ?

Hello everyone,

Please as a beginer, I have problem to start solving logic problems.

For example, May someone tell me from where start and/or which technic using to solve this puzzle :

I m not asking for solution, only some guide and technic so I can start.

Thank you very much.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

The best way to improve your logic is by solving puzzles because logic mostly comes from your intuition and your intuition becomes better only with solving, reading is good but doing problems would be better. U can start out from the basics from this practice course

I use a table normally, columns as the people and rows as what they can be, then check if there is some general constraints( like A is not werewolf), then proceed to guess a persons identity till I reach some contradiction. With time your intuition should kick in to help you find which person you should guess about, to obtain maximum information. Later you may not need the guessing technique at all and find the logic flowing by itself.

Thank you for the response. May I ask you if there is some reading out there for absolute beginner. Something can help to define the first steps.

The problem is sometimes I can solve problems very hard to solve, and sometimes I fail to solve very basic problem. The reason for the most of time I didn t have a modus operandi. Thank you anyway for your suggestion.
