Functions follow some basic rules. For the following examples, we'll use these functions:
- \( a(x) = x^2 \)
- b(x)=x+3
c(x)=4x
Addition: (f+g)(x)=f(x)+g(x), so for example, (b+c)(x)=5x+3.
- Multiplication: (f⋅g)(x)=f(x)⋅g(x), so for example (a⋅b)(x)=x2+3x2.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
